Government Raises Concerns Over Age Limit Following Sidhu Moose Wala’s Parents’ IVF Baby

Sidhu Moose Wala’s parents were blessed with a child last Saturday, nearly two years after their singer-son was shot dead.

Following the birth of late singer Sidhu Moose Wala’s parents’ second son via IVF last week, the government has raised concerns regarding the age limit for conceiving a child through this method. Balkaur Singh, the singer’s father, alleges harassment from the district administration for documentation related to the child.

The couple welcomed their child last Saturday, nearly two years after the tragic death of their singer-son. Charan Singh, aged 58, reportedly underwent In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) treatment earlier this year, according to a relative.

In an Instagram video on Tuesday, Balkaur Singh appealed to the administration to allow the treatment process to conclude. He expressed frustration over the district’s demand for documentation regarding the child and assured compliance once the treatment is complete.

The Union Health Ministry recently requested a report from the Punjab government regarding Charan Singh’s IVF treatment, noting that the age limit for IVF is 21-50 years, as per Section 21(g)(i) of the Assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulation) Act, 2021.

Balkaur Singh also shared a photo with his newborn son on Instagram, announcing the birth and assuring the family’s well-being. The tragic loss of their elder son, singer-turned-politician Sidhu Moose Wala, in May 2022, adds poignancy to the family’s recent joy.
