On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that the government is increasing employment in both established industries like renewable energy and space exploration as well as in emerging ones like automation and defence exports.
Modi highlighted how India’s development trajectory and rate of advancement are creating new job opportunities in every industry. He declared, “The government is promoting new sectors like renewable energy, space, automation, and defence exports while also strengthening the traditional sectors that provide employment opportunities.”
In addition to giving a video speech to the National Rozgar Mela, Modi gave out over 51,000 appointment letters to recently hired employees of different government agencies and ministries.
Modi emphasised that the Rozgar Melas are being held in a number of states and Union Territories as a symbol of the government’s dedication to the youth of tomorrow. “We’re not just creating jobs; we’re also keeping an open system in place,” Modi declared.
He went on to discuss the emergence of new opportunities in the field of drone technology and provided instances of its application in nutrient spraying and crop evaluation.
The Prime Minister disclosed that drones are being employed for land mapping under the Swamitva Scheme. He also discussed using drones to transport medications in the Himachal Pradesh region of Lahaul Spiti, cutting the projected delivery time from two hours to less than twenty to thirty minutes.
The Prime Minister referred to the rate of development that is generating new employment prospects across all industries, citing Dhordo village as the winner of the United Nations’ Best Tourism Village award and the Hoysala temple complex and Shanti Niketan as World Heritage sites. Young people will have more opportunities as a result of these advances and rising tourism. In a similar vein, advancements in sports are opening up new possibilities,” he stated.
Modi stated that the initiatives of skilling and education are preparing the youth to fully take advantage of the new chances, noting that any competitive advantage of any country needs the power of youth to be completely realised.
He declared, “India is educating and skilling its youth to take advantage of new opportunities today.”
The PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana has trained millions of students, and new medical institutions, IITs, IIMs, and IIITs have all emerged along with the New National Education Policy. The PM Vishwakarma Yojana has been introduced to the friends of Vishwakarma. He stated, “Reskilling and upskilling are imperative, and the PM Vishwakarma Yojana is integrating the Vishwakarma with contemporary tools and technology.”
The Prime Minister also emphasised the revival of Khadi, which saw sales of over 1.25 lakh crore ten years ago, as opposed to just 30,000 crore. “This has helped women in particular by creating a large number of jobs in the Khadi and village industry sector.”
He said that creating employment opportunities for the youth is an important part of the nation-building process which will pave the way for India to become a developed nation.
According to the prime minister, the new hires will advance and carry out government initiatives on the ground. “You all are growing into significant allies in our nation-building endeavours today,” he remarked.
To achieve India’s objective, the Prime Minister advised the new recruits to put in their all-out effort. In addition, he exhorted them to utilise the iGOT Karmayogi platform and to keep learning. “Every action you take will contribute to the nation’s rapid development,” he continued.
Union education and skill Skill Development and Entrepreneurship minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who was present during the event, said that Rozgar Mela was one more step towards the fulfilment of the commitment of PM Modi to provide meaningful opportunities to the youth their participation in national development as well as fulfil the aspirations of youth.
He declared, “PM Modi’s government is still dedicated to working on mission mode for creating jobs as well as for seizing new opportunities.”
There will be 37 Rozgar Mela venues nationwide. Selected from all throughout the nation, the new hires will be working for the government in a variety of agencies and ministries, such as the Ministry of health and family welfare, Higher Education, revenue, Home Affairs, posts, railroads, and Education and literacy in Schools.
