Giriraj Singh, Union Minister of Textiles, on Thursday launched a scathing critique of the Congress party, blaming it for a string of historical blunders that, he said, had long-term implications for India’s foreign policy and territorial integrity.
Addressing the media in Begusarai, the Union Minister pointed to several decisions taken under Congress rule as major diplomatic failures.
“From taking the Kashmir issue to the United Nations, to mishandling Tibet, and losing 34,000 square kilometres of Chinese land – these were grave mistakes made under the Congress regime,” he remarked.
Referring to the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War, Giriraj Singh acknowledged the role of then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi but added a caveat.
“It would have been better to act on time,” he stated.
The Union Minister also accused Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge of obsessing over the Gandhi family’s political legacy.
“Kharge has grown old, but still clings to the outdated narrative of the Gandhi family. The country has moved forward under the leadership of Narendra Modi, who has worked tirelessly to restore India’s honour on the global stage,” Singh asserted.

Giriraj Singh concluded by praising PM Modi’s leadership, stating that the current government had revitalised India’s international image.
“Today, India commands respect across the world – this is a result of PM Modi’s leadership and decisive actions,” Singh said.
Singh’s remarks followed Rahul Gandhi’s recent visit to Gaya and Nalanda districts on 6 June, where the Congress leader questioned the Centre’s handling of Operation Sindoor and its diplomatic response during a crucial moment.
Gandhi had accused Prime Minister Modi of yielding to pressure from US President Donald Trump during the military operation.
“Trump has publicly claimed 11 times that he forced PM Modi to agree to a ceasefire, and the latter has not denied it even once,” he noted.
Rahul Gandhi further questioned, “If Trump was lying, why hasn’t PM Modi called him out?”
