Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) president Sonia Gandhi mourned the death of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, describing it as a “personal loss.” She referred to Dr. Singh as her “friend, philosopher, and guide” in a heartfelt tribute.

Dr. Singh passed away at the age of 92 due to age-related illnesses at Delhi’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Thursday night.

A Personal Loss for Sonia Gandhi

In her emotional note, Sonia Gandhi expressed how much Dr. Singh meant to her. “To spend any time with him was to come away enlightened by his knowledge and sagacity,” she wrote. She also highlighted his honesty, integrity, and humility.

Sonia remembered Dr. Singh for serving the country with “all his heart and mind.” His commitment to social justice, secularism, and democratic values remained unwavering throughout his life.

Dr. Manmohan Singh’s Contributions and Lasting Legacy

Sonia Gandhi paid tribute to Dr. Singh’s contributions to India’s progress, describing him as a leader who will always be “proudly remembered” by the Congress Party and the people of India. She acknowledged that his passing leaves behind a void that can never be filled.

She also celebrated Dr. Singh’s global respect, calling him a “statesman of immense wisdom and stature.” Gandhi praised his brilliance and the honor he brought to India in every role he held.

Dr. Manmohan Singh’s passing marks the end of an era, but his legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
