Veteran actor and politician, Gautami Tadimalla, has announced her resignation from the BJP today. In her resignation letter posted on X (formerly known as Twitter), she alleged that some party leaders were assisting a man she claims “betrayed and cheated” her.
In her statement, Ms. Tadimalla expressed her deep disappointment at not receiving support from the party and its leaders during what she described as an “unimaginable crisis” in her life. Furthermore, she discovered that several party members were actively aiding C Alagappan, whom she accused of duping her of her property, money, and documents.
Having been associated with the BJP for 25 years, Ms. Tadimalla tagged BJP President JP Nadda and the party’s Tamil Nadu chief K Annamalai in her post, emphasizing that she was resigning “in great pain and sorrow, but with very firm resolve.”
She revealed the circumstances that led to her involvement with Mr. Alagappan around 20 years ago. At that time, she was a single mother who had recently lost both her parents and had an infant child. Mr. Alagappan, she claimed, presented himself as a caring elder figure and insinuated himself and his family into her life. She entrusted him with the sale and documents of several of her lands. Recently, she discovered that he had defrauded her while pretending to welcome her and her daughter as part of his family.
Ms. Tadimalla declared that she is now fighting for justice as a “lone woman and a single parent,” and she concluded her statement by saying that a 25-year journey had come to an end with her resignation from the BJP.
