Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a grand welcome in Gandhinagar on Tuesday as he led a spirited roadshow through the city.

Onlookers lined the streets waving the Indian tricolour, while vibrant posters hailing PM Modi’s leadership and ‘Operation Sindoor’ adorned the entire route.

Traditional Gujarati folk dancers performed garba to honour the Prime Minister, who graciously waved to the cheering crowds and acknowledged their greetings.

Following the roadshow, PM Modi participated in the 20th-anniversary celebrations of Gujarat’s Urban Development journey.

The event commemorated two decades of transformative urban infrastructure growth across the state.

As part of the programme, PM Modi also laid the foundation stone for several new projects, reinforcing his commitment to modernising Gujarat’s urban landscape.

Major Announcements In Kachchh

A day prior, in a landmark visit to the border district of Kachchh for the first time since ‘Operation Sindoor’, Prime Minister Modi addressed a massive public gathering in Bhuj.

From the grounds near Time Square in Bhuj, he dedicated 18 development projects worth ₹2,326 crore and laid the foundation stones for 15 new ventures amounting to ₹51,088 crore — a combined investment exceeding ₹53,400 crore.

Addressing the audience amid loud chants of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’, PM Modi paid homage to the revolutionary figure Shyamji Krishna Varma and expressed reverence for Maa Ashapura, the regional deity of Kachchh.

Speaking in the local dialect, he greeted the audience with ‘Ki Aayo Kutchhi’ and enquired after their well-being.

The Prime Minister fondly recalled his deep personal connection with the region, stating that the affection of Kachchh’s people always draws him back.

He praised the residents as brave protectors of the nation’s borders and lauded their resilience and self-belief.

Highlighting the transformation brought about by the arrival of the Narmada River waters, PM Modi remarked that what was once a water-scarce region now celebrates as if it were Diwali.

He emphasised that this change embodies the strength and determination of Gujarat’s development journey.
