On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took charge of the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The Prime Minister, adorned in a golden kurta paired with a cream dhoti and patka, entered the temple grounds under a silver ‘chattar’ (umbrella) atop a red folded dupatta. Making a solemn pledge for the consecration ceremony, he proceeded to the sanctum sanctorum for the sacred rituals.
Inside the sanctum sanctorum, PM Modi was joined by RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for the ceremonies. Following the conclusion of the elaborate rituals, Prime Minister Modi addressed a diverse gathering that included seers and prominent personalities from various fields.
Following the conclusion of the consecration ceremony, Prime Minister Modi declared on Monday that Ram Lalla would no longer dwell in a tent, but instead, in the splendid temple now standing in Ayodhya.
“Our beloved Ram Lalla will no longer reside in a tent. The divine temple is now his abode. I am deeply convinced that the impact of this moment will reverberate among Lord Ram’s devotees not only across the country but around the world. This moment is transcendental. This time is supremely sacred. The atmosphere, the ambiance, the energy—everything about this moment is a divine blessing from Lord Shri Ram,” expressed the Prime Minister.
“January 22, 2024, signifies more than just a date on the calendar. It heralds the dawn of a new era,” he added.
He expressed that a nation, emerging by shattering the chains of a servile mindset and deriving strength from every historical hardship, forges a new narrative in this fashion.
“In a millennium from now, discussions will echo about this particular date, this very moment. The enormity of Lord Ram’s benevolence is evident as we live through this epoch, witnessing its unfolding,” remarked the Prime Minister.
Apologizing to Lord Ram, Prime Minister Modi acknowledged the potential shortcomings in past efforts, expressing a sense of deep reflection on the historic occasion.
“In this extraordinary moment, indelible lines are being inscribed in the eternal ink of time. It is well-known that wherever the work of Lord Ram is undertaken, Pawanputra Hanuman is ever-present. Hence, my reverence extends to the devoted Hanuman, Hanumangarhi, Mother Janaki, Lakshman Ji, Bharat-Shatrughna, and all others. Ayodhya and the sacred Saryu river also receive my heartfelt respects. At this juncture, I sense a divine presence, feeling the blessings of those celestial beings who have graced this monumental endeavor. My gratitude goes out to all these divine entities.”
“Today, I humbly seek forgiveness from Lord Shriram. Recognizing the potential lapses in our past efforts, sacrifices, and penance, which led to the delay in accomplishing this task over centuries, I believe that today, those deficiencies have been rectified. I trust that Lord Ram will graciously forgive us on this momentous day,” stated the Prime Minister.
He acknowledged that the legal dispute regarding the existence of Lord Ram spanned several decades and thanked the Indian judiciary for ensuring justice.
“In the initial draft of India’s Constitution, the presence of Lord Ram is evident. Despite the Constitution coming into effect, legal disputes regarding the existence of Lord Shri Ram persisted for many years. I extend my appreciation to the Indian judiciary for upholding the principles of justice. The construction of the temple dedicated to Lord Ram, a symbol of justice, was also carried out judiciously,” stated PM Modi.
The Prime Minister announced that the nation is joyously observing Diwali today, with arrangements underway for illuminating Ramjyoti in every household.
“In every village, collective kirtan and sankirtan sessions are resonating. Temples are adorned for festive celebrations, and cleanliness drives are in full swing. The spirit of Diwali echoes across the entire country, with households gearing up to light Ramjyoti this evening,” affirmed the PM.
Reflecting on his visit to Arichal Munai, the origin point of Ram Setu in Dhanushkodi, the Prime Minister expressed that the moment when Lord Ram embarked on his journey across the sea was a pivotal turning point in history.
“Yesterday, blessed by Lord Shri Ram, I stood at Arichal Munai, the commencement of Ram Setu in Dhanushkodi. The moment when Lord Ram initiated his sea-crossing journey marked a profound shift in the course of time. It was my modest attempt to connect with the essence of that poignant moment,” he shared.
“At that sacred site, I offered floral tributes, and a conviction arose within me that just as the course of time altered then, similarly, it is poised to take a positive turn once again.
“Throughout my 11-day fasting and rituals, I endeavored to tread the paths where Lord Ram’s divine feet had touched. Whether it was the Panchavati Dham in Nashik, the revered Triprayar Temple in Kerala, Lepakshi in Andhra Pradesh, Ranganathaswamy Temple in Srirangam, Shri Ramanathaswamy Temple in Rameshwaram, or Dhanushkodi,” he elaborated.
“I consider myself fortunate to have undertaken this sacred journey, carrying the same profound sentiments, from the sea to the sacred river Saryu,” he expressed.
“Having had the privilege of hearing the Ramayana recounted in various languages across the corners of the country, especially over the last 11 days,” added the Prime Minister.
On this auspicious occasion, the Prime Minister paid tribute to the numerous devotees who exemplified the highest levels of sacrifice and penance in their devotion to Lord Ram.
“In this historic moment today, the nation reflects on the tireless efforts and unwavering dedication of individuals whose relentless commitment has made this auspicious day a reality. Many have reached the zenith of sacrifice and penance in service to Lord Ram. We owe a debt of gratitude to these countless devotees, volunteers, saints, and sages,” he expressed.
PM Modi: Today’s Event Marks not just Celebration, but the Maturation of Indian Society.
“This moment is more than just a triumph; it embodies humility. History globally attests that nations often grapple with their own past. Attempts to untangle historical complexities have, in many cases, led to greater challenges and complications. Yet, the earnest and sensitive approach with which our country has addressed this historical knot suggests that our future holds greater beauty than our past,” expressed the Prime Minister.
In a strong rebuke to fearmongers, the Prime Minister countered the narrative, highlighting a time when some predicted unrest with the construction of the Ram temple.
“Those individuals failed to grasp the inherent purity of India’s social sentiment. The establishment of Ram Lalla’s temple symbolizes peace, patience, harmony, and coordination within Indian society,” he emphasized.
Contrary to the apprehensions, the Prime Minister noted that the temple construction is not fueling conflicts but rather generating positive energy. He emphasized that the Ram temple serves as a source of inspiration for all segments of society, urging those with reservations to reconsider their perspectives.
“Today, I extend a call to those individuals—sense it, reconsider your stance,” he declared.
“Ram is not fire, Ram is energy. Ram is not a dispute, Ram is the solution. Ram is not only ours, Ram is for everyone. Ram is not just the present, Ram is eternal,” he further added.
He said Ram Temple is not just a divine temple but a symbol of India’s vision, philosophy, and direction. It is a temple of national consciousness in the form of Ram, he added.
“Ram is the faith of India, the foundation of India.
Ram is the thought of India, the law of India.
Ram is the consciousness of India, the contemplation of India.
Ram is the prestige of India, the might of India.
Ram is the flow, Ram is the influence.
Ram is the norm, and Ram is the policy.
Ram is the permanence, and Ram is the continuity.
Ram is vast, Ram is expansive.
Ram is all-encompassing, Ram is the universe, the soul of the universe. And therefore, when Ram is established, its impact lasts not just for years or centuries. Its impact is for thousands of years,” said PM Modi.
“The Prime Minister remarked that the installation of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya signifies the embodiment of the concept of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ or the world as one family.
“As the global community joins in the transformative ceremony of the Ram temple, we witness the omnipresence of Lord Ram. The celebration resonates not only within India but reverberates in numerous countries, turning today’s festivities in Ayodhya into a global festival of Ramayana traditions. The consecration of Ram Lalla symbolizes the profound concept of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’,” stated the Prime Minister.
“In Ayodhya today, it’s not just the idol of Shri Ram that has come to life; it is also the revival of unwavering faith in Indian culture, personified by Shri Ram. It signifies the rejuvenation of human values and supreme ideals, which are essential for the world today. The timeless resolution of ‘Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah’ has taken tangible form today in the magnificent structure of the Ram temple,” he added.
In his address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the enduring impact of Lord Ram’s reign in Treta Yuga, stating that the establishment of Ram Rajya lasted for thousands of years. He highlighted the significance of nation-building efforts in the present time, declaring, “This is the opportune moment. We must lay the foundation for the future of India, spanning the next thousand years, starting from this sacred time. The generations a thousand years from now will remember our endeavors in nation-building today.”
“Transitioning beyond temple construction, we, as citizens, commit to shaping a skilled, majestic, and spiritually enriched India. Integrating Ram’s ideals into both ‘Manas’ and the collective consciousness is our stride towards nation-building,” stated PM Modi.
A Call to the Youth of India
“I tell the youth of my country. You have the inspiration of thousands of years of tradition in front of you. You represent the generation of India… that is hoisting the flag on the moon, that is successfully conducting Mission Aditya by traveling 15 lakh kilometers to the Sun, that is waving the flag of Tejas in the sky and Vikrant in the sea. You have to write the new dawn of India while being proud of your heritage,” said the PM.
Rise of ‘Viksit Bharat’
He said grand Ram temple will be a witness to the rise of a magnificent India, to the development of India!
“This temple teaches us that if the goal is proven true, if the goal is born out of collective and organized strength, then achieving that goal is not impossible,” said PM Modi.
This is India’s Time
“This is India’s time, and India is now moving forward. We have reached here after centuries of waiting. We all have been waiting for this era, this period of time. Now, we will not stop. We will reach the heights of development,” said the PM.
