Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated India’s medal winners at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. He praised Ganesh Mani Ratnam Thirumuru, sailors Manu Francis and Prince Noble, and the Indian women’s squash team for their bronze and silver-medal performances.

In a post shared by the PMO India, PM Modi congratulated Ganesh on his bronze in the men’s compound individual event.

The Prime Minister praised his precision under pressure. He lauded his composure and determination, saying the performance had brought immense glory to the country. He further extended his best wishes for Ganesh’s future endeavours.

Ganesh defeated Vietnam’s Cong Duc Dang 149-144 in the bronze-medal contest. He produced a composed finish, hitting three successive 10s to secure the medal.

The result marked his second podium finish at the Games after helping India win gold in the men’s team compound event.

In another post shared by the PMO India, PM Modi congratulated Prince Noble and Manu Francis after their silver-medal finish in the men’s skiff event.

PM Modi described the result as a ‘special and spectacular Silver’ and praised their improved performance, skill and determination.

The Indian pair finished runners-up to China with 23 net points from nine races. Their result included a victory in Race 3 and second-place finishes in Races 1, 5 and 9.

PM Narendra Modi then congratulated the Indian women’s squash team for winning bronze in a post shared by the PMO India. He praised their spirited effort and resolve. He said the achievement could encourage more youngsters to take up squash.

India lost 2-1 to Hong Kong in the semi-final. Anahat Singh lost 3-2 to Chan Sin Yuk, before Tanvi Khanna levelled the tie against Lee Ka Yi. Joshna Chinappa then lost 3-0 to Ho Tze Lok, giving India the bronze medal.
