In a heartfelt condolence message addressed to N Chandrasekaran, current Chairman of Tata Sons, Manmohan Singh described Tata as ‘a titan of Indian industry’ whose contributions extended far beyond the business realm.

He emphasized that Tata was not just a corporate icon; his visionary outlook and commitment to philanthropy were evident in the numerous charitable initiatives he championed throughout his life.

“Ratan Tata had the courage to speak truth to power,” Singh remarked, reflecting on Tata’s integrity and moral compass.

The former PM also shared cherished memories of their collaborative efforts over the years.

“I take this opportunity to convey my deepest condolences on this sad occasion,” Manmohan Singh concluded in his message.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also paid tribute to Tata earlier in the day, lauding him as a ‘visionary business leader’ and an ‘extraordinary human being’. In a post on X, PM Modi highlighted Tata’s enduring legacy of humility, kindness, and commitment to societal improvement.

Taking to X, PM Modi posted, “Shri Ratan Tata Ji was a visionary business leader, a compassionate soul and an extraordinary human being.
