Former Gujarat Congress President Arjun Modhwadia Resigns, Condemned Rahul Gandhi’s Actions

Arjun Modhwadia, the former state president of the Gujarat Congress, announced his resignation from the party on Monday, sparking speculation about a growing divide within the organization. In his letter addressed to party chief Mallikarjun Kharge, the MLA expressed his reasons for stepping down.

Modhwadia emphasized the significance of Lord Ram to Hindus, describing him not only as revered but also as the embodiment of India’s faith.

“Prabhu Ram is not just Pujaniya to Hindus, but he is the Aastha of Bharat,” he said in the letter.

He criticized the party’s decision to decline an invitation to witness the Pran Pratishtha Mahotsav, stating that it had disregarded the sentiments of the Indian people. He particularly condemned Rahul Gandhi’s actions in Assam, which he believed further provoked the party’s members and citizens.

He added, “To further distract and humiliate this pious occasion, Rahul Gandhi attempted to create a ruckus in Assam which further angered our party cadres and citizens of Bharat.”

His resignation stemmed from his opposition to the party’s choice in January to abstain from attending the Pran Pratishta ceremony in Ayodhya. Modhwadia cited numerous encounters with individuals who felt offended by the Congress’s stance, viewing it as an insult to Lord Ram.

Expressing his disappointment in his inability to contribute effectively to his district, Porbandar, and the state of Gujarat in recent years, Modhwadia stated that it was with a heavy heart that he resigned from all positions within the Congress. He expressed gratitude towards the party leadership and its members for their support throughout his four-decade-long association with the organization.

Amid the rift, another congress leader resigns

Similarly, Ambarish Der a leader from the Congress party also resigned due to the party’s leadership choices. Taking a jab at the party he said the congress party should operate more like a political entity rather than an NGO.

Ambrish Der is a prominent figure in the Ahir community.

Der will be joining BJP, he has announced that he will join the saffron party on March 05 in a ceremony scheduled to take place at BJP headquarters in Gujarat. To mark his induction a public event is also set to take place in the Rajula Assembly constituency.
