Kalpana Soren has been announced as the JMM’s candidate from Gandey, as decided in a meeting held at the Chief Minister’s residence last Friday. The meeting also saw plans for a mega rally akin to the Aam Aadmi Party’s events, named Nyay Ulgulan Maharally, to be held at Prabhat Tara Ground on April 21st. This rally is expected to witness the participation of prominent leaders from the India Alliance party.
Supriyo Bhattacharya, the JMM General Secretary, stated that all national-level leaders of the India Alliance would be invited to the rally. Kalpana Soren, whose candidature was approved during the meeting, was present as well. Her political journey will commence from Gandey.
The responsibility for victory rests on the MLAs, Bhattacharya emphasized. They were tasked with ensuring the success of India Alliance candidates in their respective constituencies by providing comprehensive support and leveraging their influence in nearby constituencies to mobilize voters.
Chief Minister Champai Soren expressed confidence that the upcoming rally would be historic, rallying against the arrest of Hemant Soren and aiming to oust the BJP nationwide. Kalpana Soren echoed this sentiment, urging supporters to demonstrate the same strength seen in protests during the rallies and elections.
However, the absence of two MLAs, Lobin Hembram and Chamra Linda, raised speculation. Linda’s absence is reportedly due to dissatisfaction over not being allocated the Lohardaga seat from Congress. Hembram, on the other hand, has declared intentions to contest independently if not nominated from Rajmahal.
Despite these challenges, the JMM is gearing up for a significant political event with the Nyay Ulgulan Maharally, aiming to make a resounding statement against the BJP and rally support for the India Alliance candidates.
