Five Pakistani Aircraft Destroyed In Operation Sindoor: BJP’s Amit Malviya

BJP’s National Information and Technology Department head, Amit Malviya, claimed on Saturday that the Indian Air Force (IAF) and ground forces destroyed at least five Pakistani military aircraft during Operation Sindoor.

These included a Chinese JF-17 fighter jet, two F-16s, and a C-130 J medium-lift transport aircraft.

Malviya made these assertions via his official handle on the social media platform X, as political debate continues around Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s inquiry into Indian aircraft losses, without mentioning Pakistan’s setbacks during the conflict.

PAF Suffered Major Losses, Including Advanced Radar Aircraft

According to Malviya, Indian forces also targeted and destroyed a Pakistani Saab 2000 Erieye Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEWC) aircraft deep inside Pakistani territory, approximately 315 kilometres from the Line of Control.

The Saab 2000 is equipped with an advanced AESA radar system and plays a vital role in Pakistan’s air surveillance capabilities.

Malviya cited media reports stating that the IAF has proof of successful strikes that led to the destruction of the C-130 J, JF-17, and both F-16s, with targets engaged both on the ground and in aerial combat.

S-400 Air Defence System Activated 11 Times

Malviya highlighted that India activated its S-400 air defence system at least 11 times from Adampur Air Base during Operation Sindoor, showcasing its operational efficiency.

Adampur was notably visited by Prime Minister Narendra Modi following the ceasefire understanding with Pakistan.

Further detailing IAF’s operations, Malviya mentioned that SCALP missiles launched from Rafale jets and BrahMos missiles launched from SU-30 MKIs struck key Pakistani air command infrastructure.

The first wave of attacks reportedly took out the northern air command-control network at Nur Khan Airbase in Chaklala.

He added that the final wave of precision strikes targeted Jacobabad and Bholari airbases.

“By then, Pakistan had folded and was seeking US intervention for a ceasefire,” Malviya claimed.

Countering Fake Narratives Circulated Online

Malviya also addressed misinformation spread via fake news reports on social media. One such viral post falsely attributed to a British newspaper claimed that ‘Pakistan Air Force: The Undisputed King of the Skies’.

Malviya said the IAF’s demonstrated success in Operation Sindoor debunks such misleading narratives.

His statement comes amid increasing political and public scrutiny over the details and outcomes of Operation Sindoor, reinforcing the BJP’s assertion of Indian air superiority during the recent conflict with Pakistan.
