Kerala police arrested 5 suspects while 10 others are in custody in connection with the repeated sexual assault against a minor girl in the Pathanamthitta district of Kerala.
The details of the horrific incident reveal that the teenager was raped by around 62 people.
The sportswomen accounting poignant incidents revealed that she had continuously been sexually exploited by friends, coaches, and senior sportsmen since she was 13 years old.
A counseling session with the Child Welfare Committee (CWC)in Pathanamthitta brought the issue of sexual assault against a minor to light as the victim’s teachers had informed the panel of behavioral change in the teenager.

Later, the CWC handed over the case to the chief of district police in Pathanamthitta.
She revealed the names of 40 people, in the preliminary report, whose mobile numbers she had saved in her father’s device she was using.
The number of FIRs is anticipated to increase as the local police stations in the districts of Elavanthitta, Kinni, and Pathanamthitta have registered five FIRs under the Provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Moreover, All the five arrested accused are under the age of 30.
Considering the sensitivity and gravity of the case, the District Police Chief has constituted a special team of top district officers.
