Vice President CP Radhakrishnan is on a two-day visit to Andhra Pradesh to take part in the centenary celebrations of Sri Sathya Sai Baba and to engage with trainee civil servants.
His visit, which began on Saturday, underscores his commitment to public service, education, and parliamentary preparedness.
On Sunday, the Vice President will attend the grand Centenary Celebrations of Sri Sathya Sai Baba as the Chief Guest at the Sri Sathya Sai Hill View Stadium in Puttaparthi.
The event marks a major spiritual milestone, drawing devotees and dignitaries from across the country. Officials noted that his presence reflects the deep respect Sri Sathya Sai Baba commands nationwide.
Later in the day, the Vice President will visit the new campus of the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes & Narcotics (NACIN) at Palasamudram.
He will address Officer Trainees of All India Services and Central Civil Services participating in their Special Foundation Course.
His interactions will focus on administrative ethics, service delivery, and nation-building.
On Saturday, Vice President Radhakrishnan attended the 44th Convocation of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning at Prasanthi Nilayam as the Chief Guest.
He congratulated graduating students and emphasised the value of character-based education inspired by Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s teachings.
The Vice President, who also serves as the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, recently reviewed preparations for the upcoming Winter Session of Parliament.
In a meeting with Deputy Chairman Harivansh and senior officials, he discussed arrangements for the smooth conduct of House business, including support systems for MPs during Question Hour.
The Winter Session, beginning on 1 December and likely running until 19 December, will be Radhakrishnan’s first as Rajya Sabha Chairman since assuming office on 12 September.
Last month, Radhakrishnan visited several sections of the Rajya Sabha Secretariat at Parliament House to understand internal workflows.
He interacted with staff from key branches—such as the Legislative Section, Question Branch, Notice Office, and Reporters’ Branch—and appreciated their contribution to the effective functioning of the Upper House.
The Vice President’s visit to Andhra Pradesh blends spiritual engagement, administrative outreach, and institutional leadership.
His participation in Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s centenary and his address to civil service trainees highlight his focus on values-driven governance, public service, and parliamentary efficiency.
