Jorhat:

– Congress’ deputy leader in the Lok Sabha, Gaurav Gogoi, is contesting from the Jorhat Lok Sabha constituency. Gogoi, son of former Assam CM Tarun Gogoi, has received support from senior Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi during his campaign.

– BJP’s Topon Kumar Gogoi is the incumbent MP from the region and has been declared BJP’s candidate for the Lok Sabha elections 2024.

Kaziranga:

– The Kaziranga Lok Sabha constituency will witness a contest between BJP’s Kamakhya Prasad Tasa and Congress’ Roselina Tirkey.

– Previously known as the Kaliabor Lok Sabha seat, it was renamed Kaziranga ahead of the Lok Sabha Election 2024. Gaurav Gogoi of Congress was the former MP from Kaliabor.

Sonitpur:

– BJP has fielded Ranjit Dutta in the Sonitpur Lok Sabha constituency, while the Congress Party has nominated Prem Lal Ganju.

Lakhimpur:

– BJP’s Pradan Baruah is contesting from the Lakhimpur Lok Sabha constituency. Baruah, the incumbent MP, secured 7,76,406 votes in the 2019 polls.

Dibrugarh:

– Assam’s former CM and Union minister Sarbananda Sonowal is contesting as a BJP candidate from the Dibrugarh Lok Sabha constituency. BJP’s Rameswar Teli, the incumbent MP, received 6,59,583 votes in the 2019 polls.
