A prominent figure in the 2020–21 protest against the BJP government for “black farm laws,” Rakesh Tikait has again come up with the ‘Delhi Chalo’ agitation. This began with tear gas being fired at the Punjab-Haryana border. Now this is raising a clash between the farmers and the police forces.
Regarding this, the farmer leader Rakesh Tikait said, “We are issuing a warning to the ruling BJP if the government creates a problem for these farmers.” There are several farmer unions, and they have different issues… If the government creates a problem for farmers marching to Delhi, we are not far from them. We are in support of them.”
Let us tell you that Mr. Tikat is the head of BKU (Bharatiya Kisan Union). The BKU is a Uttar Pradesh-based organization that was formed by the former Prime Minister of India, Chaudhary Charan Singh.
However, earlier this week, Charan Singh was awarded the prestigious award of India, ‘Bharat Ratna.’ Moreover, BKU is the largest farmer organization in the country, with the motive of solving all the needs and problems of the farmers.

Naresh Tikat, brother of Rakesh Tikat and also the National President of the BJK, requested that the government should have talks with the farmers. He said, “Protests are underway across the country. The government should hold discussions but give respect to the farmers. They should think and try to solve this issue.”
