The brutal murder occurred on June 8, when Renukaswamy was abducted from his hometown, Chitradurga, and brought to Bengaluru. There, he was confined, tortured, and eventually murdered. His body was discarded in a canal and discovered by security personnel at a private apartment, who saw the body being dragged by dogs.
Renukaswamy, who left behind elderly parents, a pregnant wife, and a sister, was targeted after sending obscene messages to Pavithra Gowda. During the investigation, four suspects surrendered and confessed to the murder over a financial dispute.
Actor Darshan was arrested in Mysuru on June 11, while Pavithra Gowda and some of Darshan’s associates were apprehended in Bengaluru. All suspects, including Darshan, Pavithra Gowda, and the 15 others, are currently held in Parappana Agrahara Central Jail. The court has extended their judicial custody until August 28.
