South Delhi unveil shocking healthcare scheme
In a shocking incident in Delhi’s affluent Greater Kailash area, a scandal involving two doctors, a woman impersonating a surgeon, a laboratory technician, and the tragic deaths of several patients has recently come to light. Dr. Neeraj Agarwal, his wife Pooja Agarwal, Dr. Jaspreet Singh, and former lab technician Mahender Singh were arrested in connection with the deaths of two patients who underwent surgeries at a clinic in South Delhi.
The unsettling events unfolded when a patient named Asghar Ali was admitted to the clinic in 2022 for gallbladder treatment. Initially informed that Dr. Jaspreet, a qualified surgeon, would perform the surgery, Mr. Ali was shocked when Pooja and Mahendra replaced Dr. Jaspreet just before the operation. After the procedure, Mr. Ali experienced severe pain and, despite being rushed to Safdarjung Hospital, tragically succumbed upon arrival.
Families of the deceased patients alleged that Dr. Agarwal, who operates the Agarwal Medical Centre, and his accomplices conducted surgeries on vital organs without adhering to established medical protocols. The complainants further claimed that Dr. Agarwal, despite being a physician, performed surgeries with falsified documents.
An investigation revealed a disturbing pattern, with nine complaints against Dr. Agarwal, Pooja, and the Agarwal Medical Centre since 2016. Shockingly, in seven cases, patients died due to medical negligence. On November 1, a medical board discovered numerous deficiencies and shortcomings during an examination of the medical centre, highlighting Agarwal’s habitual falsification of patient treatment and surgery documents.

The police seized 414 prescription slips, two registers detailing medical termination of pregnancy (MTP) procedures, and unauthorized medications and injections from the clinic. Additionally, they found expired surgical blades, original prescription slips of numerous patients, checkbooks from 47 banks, 54 ATM cards, passbooks from multiple post offices, and six POS terminal credit card machines during a search of Agarwal’s residence and clinic.
This disturbing case underscores the importance of stringent oversight and adherence to medical standards to ensure the safety and well-being of patients in healthcare settings.
