A massive explosion occurred near a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) school in Prashant Vihar, Rohini, on Sunday, causing panic among local residents.
The blast damaged the school’s boundary wall, shattered windowpanes of parked cars, and affected nearby shop signboards. Delhi Fire Services received a call about the explosion at 7:50 AM. They dispatched two fire engines to the scene but later returned, as there was no fire and no injuries reported.
Upon receiving information, a police team arrived and cordoned off the area. A bomb detection squad, along with sniffer dogs, was deployed to investigate the incident. Forensic teams and officers from the Delhi Police Special Cell are working to determine the nature of the blast.

The National Security Guard has been notified, and a team may visit the site for further assessment. Special Commissioner (Special Cell) RP Upadhyay has also reached the location.
Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage from the area for clues. Police indicated that an underground sewage line is being examined as part of the investigation. Preliminary sources suggest that a crude bomb may be responsible for the explosion.
Eyewitnesses described the blast as extremely loud, with one person stating they felt dizzy from the noise. Another witness reported seeing a thick cloud of smoke following the explosion.
The investigation is ongoing, and this incident follows recent bomb threats that led to over 70 flights being grounded or diverted.
