A major explosion occurred early Monday morning in Khayertala village, under the Sagarapara Police Station in Murshidabad district, West Bengal, killing at least three people and injuring several others.
Initial investigations revealed that a large stockpile of raw materials used for manufacturing crude bombs caused the explosion. Police sources stated that the blast was so powerful it blew off the roof of the room where the materials were stored.

Upon reaching the site, local police discovered the bodies of the victims in the debris. The police sent their bodies for post-mortem examination.
Family Disputes Bomb Manufacturing Claims
While the police initiated an investigation, the victims’ families denied the claim that raw materials for crude bomb manufacturing caused the explosion. They alleged that the deceased were attacked by unknown assailants using crude bombs. However, district police sources said the nature of the explosion clearly indicated that it was not a simple bomb attack.
Authorities have launched a major search operation in the area to find more raw materials related to crude bomb manufacturing. Police are also focusing on identifying those responsible for storing these materials at the site. Investigators aim to apprehend those involved in the illegal activities.
The investigation into the explosion continues, and authorities are working to locate others linked to the illegal storage and manufacturing of bombs. The political affiliations of the victims remain undisclosed.
