Bharat Rashtra Samithi leader K Kavitha on Friday was produced before the Rouse Avenue Court in connection with the excise policy scam.
The CBI filed a request for a five-day custodial extension for Kavitha.
The CBI told the court that Kavitha was not cooperating in the investigation and was evasive in her replies.
Seeking her custodial extension, CBI said, “We have sufficient material, Whatsapp chats and statements of the associated accused.”
“Dinesh Arora stated that Abhishek Boinpally communicated the transfer of Rs 100 crores to Vijay Nair. Testimonies from Hawala operators under Sections 161 & 164 of the CrPC confirms the payment of Rs 11.9 crores,” the agency added.
The CBI further stated, “Extracted chats from Buchibabu suggest her involvement in a partnership with Indospririts. Despite being blacklisted, licenses were granted to Indospririts allegedly under the influence of accused Manish Sisodia.”
The accused’s lawyer, Nitesh Rana, argued against the CBI’s request, stating that the arrest as illegal.
Meanwhile, the court reserved its order for later in the day.
K Kavitha is the daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. She was arrested by CBI while being in judicial custody in the excise policy scam.
Earlier on 15 March, K Kavitha was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate from her residence in Banjara Hills.
