Four army personnel killed during a gunfight with terrorist in forest of Doda, Jammu and Kashmir. Encounter in J&K Doda claimed 5 lives including an officer who was critically injured during a nocturnal gunfight. Later the officer succumbed to injuries on Tuesday. Officials shared the details.
Earlier, official information claimed that 5 security personnel got injured, including an army officer and a policeman. They were injured during gunfight with terrorist in night intervening July 15 and July 16. However, Policeman was battling for life while other 4 had succumbed to injuries.
Later, Policeman also succumbed to injuries increasing the death toll to 5 in an encounter that took place in the forests of Doda.

“The encounter had started after the troops of Rashtriya Rifles and Special Operations Group (SOG) of Police launched a CASO (Cordon & Search Operation) at Dhari Gate Urarbagi in Desa forest area around 7.45 p.m. yesterday (Monday). Four army personnel, including an officer, and a policeman were injured in the exchange of fire which initially lasted for over 20 minutes,” officials said.
“The operation against the terrorists is going on in the area,” they added.
Doda is one of the steep, densely forested areas of the Jammu division. Terrorists are thought to be using a hit-and-run tactic in the region.
