Eighth List Of Candidates For Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Released By Congress; Names Inside

The party convened its Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting on Wednesday to deliberate on candidate selections.

Amidst the constantly increasing heat of Lok Sabha Elections 2024, Congress Party has made public, the eighth list of 14 candidates who will be in the battleground of upcoming polls. The candidates are going to fight from Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, and Uttar Pradesh constituencies where the election process will begin on April 19.

The party convened its Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting on Wednesday to deliberate on candidate selections. Dolly Sharma has been nominated as the party’s contender from Ghaziabad, while Nakul Dubey will represent the Congress in Sitapur.

Tatiparthi Jeevan Reddy is set to compete in Nizamabad, Telangana, while Neelam Madhu has been chosen as the candidate for Medak.

Earlier, on Tuesday, the party announced five candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, four from Chhattisgarh and one from Tamil Nadu.

R Sudha has been designated as the candidate for the Mayiladuthurai Lok Sabha constituency in Tamil Nadu. This constituency was previously held by the party’s ally DMK. Notably, Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar had served as MP from this constituency on three occasions in the past.

The grand old party’s Central Election Committee has chosen its candidates for Chhattisgarh, nominating Shashi Singh for Surguja, Menaka Devi Singh for Raigarh, Devender Singh Yadav for Bilaspur, and Biresh Thakur for Kanker. Notably, Surguja, Raigarh, and Kanker are reserved seats for Scheduled Tribes (ST) in the tribal-centric state.

Elections 2024:

The elections for the 543 parliamentary constituencies will be held in seven phases, starting on April 19 and culminating on June 1. The counting of votes will be held on June 4. The phase 1 polling will be held on April 19, the second phase on April 26, third phase on May 7, fourth phase on May 13, 5th phase on May 20, 6th phase on May 25 and the last and the 7th phase on June 1.
