In Jharkhand, a segment of Congress legislators is expressing dissatisfaction over the recent inclusion of four party MLAs as ministers in the Champai Soren-led JMM government. With 12 MLAs threatening to boycott the upcoming assembly session unless the four ministers are replaced, tensions within the party have escalated.
Eight of the disgruntled MLAs have traveled to Delhi to register their protest directly with the party’s high command. The JMM-led alliance, which holds a majority in the state assembly with 47 MLAs, including 17 from Congress and one from RJD, is facing internal discord over the ministerial appointments.

The dissenting MLAs have articulated their demand for the replacement of all four ministers, emphasizing the importance of ensuring regional representation and adhering to the principle of “one person, one post” advocated by Rahul Gandhi. They have urged the party leadership to take swift action on their demands to avoid further escalation.
In response to the discontent, Congress state chief Rajesh Thakur has assured that the issues raised by the legislators are being addressed and will be brought to the attention of the party’s central leadership. Thakur expressed optimism about resolving the matter promptly through dialogue and consensus.

Meanwhile, questions have been raised about the inclusion of Banna Gupta as a minister, particularly in light of recent controversies. Gupta has refuted allegations stemming from a purported video and insisted on its falsity.
The situation highlights growing tensions within the JMM-led alliance and underscores the need for effective communication and conflict-resolution strategies within the party. As the political landscape evolves, all parties involved will need to navigate these challenges to maintain cohesion and stability.
