The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted a raid on the residence of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora in Ludhiana on Monday. The action is part of a money laundering investigation linked to a land fraud case.
According to official sources, the raid targeted Arora’s home in Hampton Homes colony, in connection with a piece of land that was allocated to him by the state government. The land was initially designated for an industrial project but was allegedly repurposed for a residential development.
The land in question was allotted to Ritesh Properties and Industries Limited, a company owned by Arora. Additionally, raids were also carried out at the premises of Hemant Sood in Ludhiana and Chander Aggarwal in Jalandhar, both directors of the same company.

In response to the raid, Arora tweeted, “I am a law-abiding citizen and am not sure about the reason for the search operation. I will cooperate fully with agencies and ensure all their queries are answered.”
Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia condemned the raid, claiming it was part of a targeted campaign against party members. “In the last two years, they have raided Arvind Kejriwal’s house, my house, and others. Nothing was found anywhere. But (PM Narendra) Modi ji’s agencies are dedicated to filing fake cases one after another,” he stated.
Sources revealed that the industrial plot was allotted to Arora during the Congress regime. He is accused of converting the land into a residential colony and selling plots for personal profit.
