ED arrested members of PFI
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken a significant step by apprehending five individuals associated with the banned organization Popular Front of India (PFI). The arrested members include E.M. Abdul Rahman, Anis Ahmad, Afzar Pasha, and A.S. Ismail.
In a swift move, the ED brought the five accused before the Patiala House Court, emphasizing the gravity of the charges against them. ED has formally requested a 10-day custody for all five accused, underscoring the need for thorough investigation and interrogation.
Patiala House Court to pronounce verdict on custody of PFI members
The Patiala House Court, following a hearing, has currently kept its decision regarding the ED’s custody demand in abeyance. This indicates a careful consideration of legal and procedural aspects before reaching a conclusion. The court is expected to announce its decision on the Enforcement Directorate’s custody demand shortly, reflecting the judicial scrutiny applied to the case.

NIA apprehended members of PFI
It’s worth noting that prior to the ED’s action, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) had already apprehended members of the PFI.
