In a grand celebration marking the 5251st birth anniversary of Lord Krishna, organized by the Uttar Pradesh Braj Tirtha Vikas Parishad, renowned Kathak dancer Dr. Yasmin Singh captivated the audience with a mesmerizing dance drama. The event, held at the Pachjanya Auditorium, left the attendees deeply moved, as they watched the performance with unwavering attention.
The program began with an inaugural ceremony, where the CEO of Uttar Pradesh Braj Tirtha Vikas Parishad, Shyam Bahadur Singh, alongside his wife Dr. Sangeeta Singh, and the Special Secretary of Jal Nigam, Dr. Rajesh Prajapati, accompanied by his wife Dr. Shreya, jointly lit the ceremonial lamp. Dr. Shreya, accompanied by her team, opened the event with a soulful rendition of bhajans and devotional songs. This was followed by a poignant dance drama performed by Dr. Yasmin Singh and her group of artists.
Dr. Yasmin Singh’s performance, titled “The Divine Krishna,” was a Kathak dance drama deeply rooted in Krishna devotion and inspired by the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita. Her portrayal left the audience emotional, as the intricate dance movements brought to life the spiritual essence of Krishna’s teachings.
During the event, Shyam Bahadur Singh honored all the artists, expressing his pride in hosting the second performance at the newly inaugurated Pachjanya Auditorium. The auditorium was inaugurated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath the day before, with the first performance by MP and actress Hema Malini, who also presented a dance drama on Lord Krishna’s Janmashtami.

Dr. Yasmin Singh, in her remarks, highlighted the deep connection between Lord Krishna and Kathak, referring to Krishna as the father of the dance form, citing his legendary act of subduing Kaliya Nag as an early demonstration of this art. The event was attended by several notable figures, including Deputy CEO of Uttar Pradesh Braj Tirtha Vikas Parishad Satish Chandra, technical expert RK Jaiswal, and Executive Engineer of the Development Authority Prashant Gautam, among others.
