Dr Rajeshwar Singh Backs India Growth Story With IMF Data; Targets SP

Dr Rajeshwar Singh has asserted that economic discourse must rely on empirical evidence rather than political rhetoric.

Responding to remarks by Samajwadi Party leadership, he stated that such observations lack a global perspective and reflect intellectual shallowness.

Dr Rajeshwar Singh emphasised that India’s economic trajectory remains robust despite global uncertainties.

Citing data from the International Monetary Fund, he noted that India continues to rank among the fastest-growing major economies.

Dr Rajeshwar Singh added that the nation is progressing steadily towards achieving a $5 trillion economy. He outlined key indicators to substantiate his argument.

Foreign Direct Investment inflows rose significantly from approximately $266 billion during 2004-2014 to nearly $740 billion between 2014-2024.

India now ranks among the top five global FDI destinations.

Foreign exchange reserves increased from $304 billion in 2014 to around $650 billion in recent years, despite global disruptions such as pandemics and supply chain shocks.

Gold reserves have also expanded from 557 tonnes in 2014 to over 800 tonnes in 2026, strengthening financial resilience.

Dr Rajeshwar Singh further stated that large-scale infrastructure investment and rapid expansion of the digital economy have reinforced growth momentum. He criticised the Samajwadi Party’s governance record in Uttar Pradesh, alleging that it fostered instability, corruption, and investor insecurity.

Dr Rajeshwar Singh remarked that present policies have shifted the state towards development, investment, and administrative efficiency. He concluded that public opinion now aligns with measurable progress rather than political narratives.
