Dr Dinesh Sharma, MLA Rajeshwar Singh Hail Sports As India’s New Strength & Symbol Of Unity

Rajya Sabha MP and former Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Dr Dinesh Sharma addressed a large gathering of young athletes. He spoke at the Viraat Khel Mahotsav under the MP Sports Festival in Sarojini Nagar constituency of the Mohanlalganj parliamentary area.

Dr Dinesh Sharma said sports foster harmony, coordination, and the spirit of unity among players, paving the way for peace, prosperity, and cooperation.

He added that the MP Sports Festival has become an excellent platform to showcase new sporting talent.

Dr Sharma praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for introducing the MP Sports Competition, which has ignited a new enthusiasm for sports across the country.

He said that because of this initiative, talents from villages and cities are now achieving success globally.

“PM Modi has become a guiding inspiration for India’s athletes,” he said.

Sharma added that due to this effort, Indian athletes now bring home gold medals from the Olympics and Commonwealth Games. He credited Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya for helping realise the Prime Minister’s vision.

Dr Dinesh Sharma also praised Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for promoting sports by honouring athletes at the state level. He said sports unite society beyond caste and religion and teach resilience in defeat.

Praising the arrangements for the MP Sports Festival, Dr Sharma said sports have now become an essential part of life.

“The growing participation of rural athletes in the MP Sports Festival reflects the bright future of Indian sports,” he said. “The old saying, ‘Those who play will ruin, those who study will rule’, has now changed to ‘Those who play will shine’.”

He said sports today provide not only national pride but also career opportunities and jobs.

He also praised MLA Rajeshwar Singh for transforming Sarojini Nagar into a model of development through his work.

MLA Rajeshwar Singh congratulated the Indian women’s cricket team for their World Cup win, calling it a symbol of women’s empowerment.

He criticised the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab. He also called its approach undemocratic and said that its decline had already begun.

Dr Sharma and Rajeshwar Singh felicitated the winners of various sports events and honoured organisers and party officials.
