RSS Volunteers Fulfilled The Goal Of National Service Even In Difficult Times: Dr Dinesh Sharma

Rajya Sabha MP and former Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Dr Dinesh Sharma, praised the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) volunteers for their dedication to national service even under challenging circumstances.

He said the RSS is a unique organisation that works with a vision for the nation’s needs a hundred years into the future.

Dr Sharma inaugurated a 20-kilowatt solar power plant at Bhau Rao Deoras Auditorium in Nirala Nagar, Lucknow. He said the project was funded through his MP Local Area Development Scheme.

The initiative, guided by Vidya Bharati patron Brahmadev Sharma (Bhaiji), aims to reduce electricity expenditure and promote sustainability.

Dr Sharma emphasised that the installation of the solar plant is a small yet meaningful contribution to the ongoing national service efforts.

He said that in earlier times, when resources and facilities were scarce, RSS volunteers still served society with full commitment.

Their service work, he noted, has become a subject of research in various institutions. He added that RSS volunteers never seek credit for their contributions but continue their mission with humility and devotion.

Quoting a story from the Ramayana, Dr Sharma explained that praise often leads to ego, which can destroy a person’s accumulated virtue.

He recounted that Lord Hanuman cried out when Lord Rama, Sita, and Lakshman praised him after the victory in Lanka. Hanuman feared that pride might destroy his spiritual merit.

Dr Sharma said he feels privileged to serve alongside the RSS and its affiliated organisations. He recalled many sweet and challenging memories linked with the institution.

He also praised Bhaiji’s far-sighted leadership, particularly during times when political conditions were unfavourable and the organisation lacked government support.

Meanwhile, he highlighted the RSS’s 100-year journey.

He said it is now the world’s largest social organisation, leading thousands of institutions and millions of students.

Dr Sharma criticised opposition leaders for demanding a ban on the RSS. He said their remarks reflect appeasement politics filled with communalism and anti-Sanatan rhetoric.

He asserted that the RSS works for national unity and cultural pride, and those spreading hatred are facing political decline.

Several dignitaries, including Dr SK Dwivedi, Dr Shiv Bhushan Tripathi, Prof. Subodh Kumar and Dr Rajeev Saxena, attended the event.
