Why Is Tejashwi Ashamed Of Taking His Father’s Name?: PM Modi Questions RJD

On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a swipe at Mahagathbandhan’s chief ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav, questioning why he avoids mentioning his father, RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav.

Speaking at a huge public meeting in Katihar, PM Modi said the people of Bihar know politics better than anyone.

“Look at the posters of the RJD and Congress. A leader who remained chief minister for several years and brought Jungle Raj here — his photograph has either disappeared or is printed in one small corner. It is not even visible with binoculars,” he stated.

Without naming Lalu Prasad directly, the Prime Minister asked why his family seemed unwilling to acknowledge him.

“His entire family is contesting elections, then why is he not visible? Why are they ashamed of taking the father’s name? What are they hiding from the people of Bihar?” he asked.

PM Modi then accused the RJD-Congress alliance of practising appeasement politics. He alleged that they supported infiltrators in Katihar and nearby districts.

“The people of Bihar and the country have the first right over the nation’s resources. I will not allow anyone to snatch this right. But the RJD and Congress prefer katta (country-made pistol) and kattarpanthi (fundamentalists). Whenever the BJP and NDA talk about removing infiltrators, they come out to defend them,” the Prime Minister asserted.

He also criticised the INDIA bloc for giving in to hardline groups.

PM Modi said they opposed the Triple Talaq law and now plan to scrap the new Waqf Act passed by Parliament.

“The truth is — they have surrendered before fundamentalist forces. Hence, I urge you to keep the RJD and Congress thousands of miles away from power in Bihar,” he remarked.

Katihar, located close to the Bangladesh border, lies in the Seemanchal region, an area with a large Muslim population and a key factor in the state’s elections.

PM Modi’s remarks carried clear political weight in this region.

Appealing for public support, the Prime Minister urged voters in Katihar to back all NDA candidates in the upcoming polls.

Earlier in the day, he addressed another rally in Saharsa, where he spoke about development and stability under the NDA government.
