Divya Pahuja Murder Case: Gurugram police have made a significant development in Divya Pahuja’s heart-wrenching murder. The officials arrested 4 of 5 people responsible for the 27-year-old former model’s death. Divya Pahuja’s body was recovered from the Tohana Canal in Haryana. The police learned the whereabouts of the victim’s body during an interrogation with the accused. According to the chilling details revealed by the officials, Pahuja was taken by five individuals to Hotel City Point, where she was allegedly shot dead inside room number 111.
On Friday, Gurugram Police apprehended Balraj Gill, one of the suspects involved in the murder, at Kolkata Airport. Earlier in the week, three individuals, namely Abhijeet, Hemraj, and Omprakash, were arrested in connection with the alleged murder of the 27-year-old Pahuja. Meanwhile, another accused, Ravi Banga, remains at large.
Balraj Gill arrested from Kolkata Airport
Gurugram ACP (Crime) informed the ANI news agency, “Balraj Gill, accused in the murder of model Divya Pahuja, was taken into custody from Kolkata airport on Thursday. He had gone missing after abandoning his car near Patiala bus stand. Another accused, Ravi Banga, is still absconding.”
On January 5, Gurugram Police announced the recovery of the car purportedly used to dispose of the former model’s body. The BMW was found abandoned at a bus stand in Patiala, Punjab. CCTV footage revealed the accused dragging the body from the hotel to the car. Meanwhile, Pahuja’s family has called for a CBI inquiry, and police asserts that six teams from the Crime Branch under the SIT (Special Investigation Team) are actively investigating the case.

Recapping the events, on January 1, Divya Pahuja went for a walk with Abhijeet Singh, who later, along with another individual, reached City Point Hotel in Gurugram on January 2. According to the police, late on the night of January 2, Abhijeet and his associates committed the murder, allegedly giving Rs 10 lakh to two others for disposing of the body in their car. The two accomplices fled with Pahuja’s body, but the police have since apprehended Abhijeet and the other two individuals, initiating a thorough investigation.
Divya Pahuja’s name had previously surfaced in the encounter of Gurugram gangster Sandeep Gadoli, with whom she was romantically involved. Gadoli was allegedly killed in an encounter.
After an exhaustive 11-day search, the police found Divya’s body in the Tohana Canal, Haryana. The victim’s sister identified her from a distinctive mark on her body, confirmed by a photograph sent by the police. The presence of a tattoo on Divya’s back played a crucial role in her sister’s identification, confirming that the body recovered from the canal was indeed that of Divya Pahuja.

The tragic tale behind the Divya Pahuja murder case dates back to February 6, 2016, when gangster Sandeep Gadoli was killed in a police encounter in Mumbai. Mumbai Police alleged that Gadoli was enticed into a trap with the help of his “girlfriend” Divya and killed in a fake encounter. Divya’s involvement led to her arrest, but she was granted bail by the Bombay High Court almost seven years later in June of the previous year. The encounter was attributed to the collaboration between Virendra Kumar alias Binder Gujjar and Haryana Police officials, resulting in a longstanding legal saga involving multiple individuals.
