Numerous allegations surface in the light of the Mainpuri by-elections.
The Samajwadi Party (SP) has charged BJP members with manipulating voters by conspiring to prevent them from exercising their right to vote.

While the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has claimed that the Nagar Panchayat Kurawali presiding officer stole the entire list from the Booth Level Officer (BLO) and rigged the elections to favour the SP.

Akhilesh Yadav votes in the Mainpuri by-election in Saifai
Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party (SP), votes in the Mainpuri Lok Sabha by-election at the Abhinav Vidyalaya in Saifai, Etawah. After the passing of his father, Mulayam Singh Yadav, the founder of the SP, the Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat became vacant.
Voter turnout was 11% in Kurhani, Bihar, 8.50% in Padampur, Odisha, 5.27% in Sardashahar, Rajasthan, 3.97% in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, and 6.90% in Khatauli. 9.89% was registered in Bhanupratappur, Chhattisgarh, up until 9 am.
Azam Khan claims that the police had warned against voting.
Azam Khan, the head of the SP, alleged that when arresting and abusing people, police are engaging in barbarism. “Police are visiting colonies and advising residents not to cast their ballots outside. SP accused the chief election officer of being a BJP agent and of blocking votes.
The Samajwadi Party (SP) accused the police forces present at the Khatauli VS bypoll of poor management and bias. The SP claimed that CO Rakesh Kumar Singh was a “BJP agent” who prevented Muslim electors from voting.
The party demanded that CO Rakesh Kumar Singh be suspended.
