Shiv Sena (UBT) Rajya Sabha MP, Sanjay Raut
National Congress Party (NCP) Chief, Sharad Pawar in an interview stated that he chose the probe by Supreme Court over the decision of the Joint Parliamentary Committee. But the opposition parties united are asking for JPC for many days in the parliament. He also expresses that he does not support his Maharashtra ally in this. As a response, Shiv Sena (UBT) Rajya Sabha MP, Sanjay Raut said although Pawar did not give a clean chit, he did offer his opinions on potential investigative strategies.
Raut stated that the opposition is firm in demanding a JPC probe. He said, “Be it (West Bengal chief minister) Mamata Banerjee or NCP, there could be different opinions about Adani, but that will not lead to cracks in (opposition) unity in Maharashtra or in the country.”
Pawar defended the Adani Group in an interview and criticised the spin placed on Hindenburg Research’s analysis of the company.
Pawar had stated earlier in the day that he preferred a Supreme Court committee to look into the charges against the Adani company because the ruling party would control the JPC based on its majority in Parliament, casting doubt on such an investigation.
“I am not completely opposed to the JPC…there have been JPCs and I have been a chairman of some of the JPCs. The JPC will be constituted on the basis of a majority (in Parliament). Instead of a JPC, I am of the opinion the Supreme Court committee is more useful and effective,” Pawar said.

In response to allegations of stock manipulation and accounting fraud made by the American firm Hindenburg Research against the companies owned by billionaire Gautam Adani, the Congress, led by Rahul Gandhi, and others have been outspoken in their criticism of the Narendra Modi administration.
These accusations have been refuted by the Adani group, which also asserts that it abides by all laws and regulations in effect in the nation.
Raut further asserted that the Hindenburg Research report had clarified the use of the State Bank of India and Life Insurance funds to assist “friends of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party.”
