-For gasoline and diesel, residents of Chennai must pay, respectively, Rs 102.63 and Rs 94.24 per litre.
-In Kolkata, the cost of gasoline is Rs. 106.03 and that of diesel is Rs. 92.76 a litre.
Public sector oil marketing organisations adjust fuel prices in accordance with global benchmark prices and foreign exchange fluctuations (OMCs). Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. are OMCs (HPCL).
