Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express
Four people were killed and approximately 20 others were injured when multiple coaches of the Dibrugarh Express derailed in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, on Thursday. The train, traveling from Chandigarh, met with the accident between Jhilahi and Gosai Dihwa stations. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath promptly instructed district officials to ensure immediate medical care for the injured.
CM yogi on the incident
In a statement from the CM’s office on X, it was conveyed, “Following the train accident in Gonda district, CM Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to rush to the site and expedite relief efforts. The Chief Minister emphasized swift transportation of the injured to hospitals for proper treatment, extending his wishes for their speedy recovery.”
CPRO of North Eastern Railway on the incident
Railway authorities responded swiftly upon receiving news of the incident. Pankaj Singh, CPRO of North Eastern Railway, informed ANI, “Railway medical vans have reached the site, and rescue operations are underway. Helpline numbers have been activated. The derailment occurred around 2:37 pm.”

Trains diverted and re-routed
Following the incident, several train routes were diverted: Amrapali Express, Guwahati-Jammu Tawi Amarnath Express, Gorakhdham Superfast Express, Vaishali Superfast Express, Bihar Sampark Kranti Express, Sapt Kranti Superfast Express, Train No. 15273 Satyagraha Express, Train No. 19038 Avadh Express, Train No. 22537 Kushinagar Superfast Express, and Train No. 13019 Bagh Express.
Authorities continue to work on rescue and relief operations at the accident site.
