On 28 August 2024, the Department of Biotechnology at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT), Noida, conducted a dynamic panel discussion themed ‘Transformative Innovation in Biotechnology.’
The event, aimed at reflecting India’s ambition to spearhead global innovation, aligns with the national vision of ‘Jai Vigyan, Jai Anusandhan,’ which underscores the significance of science and research in national progress.
In an era where innovation is pivotal to developing a self-reliant India, institutions like JIIT are committed to nurturing creativity and entrepreneurship among the youth.
The Department of Biotechnology has been instrumental in providing platforms for dialogue and learning, contributing significantly to the growth of future scientists, bioentrepreneurs, and leaders.
JIIT Noida Panel Discusses Biotechnology, Entrepreneurship, & National Initiatives
The panel featured distinguished speakers who shared their expertise on various aspects of biotechnology and entrepreneurship:
- Ms. Priyanka Sachdeva, CEO of Core & Pure, discussed the therapeutic advantages of Ayurveda and Aromatherapy.
- Ms. Purva Sharma, Founder of Wholix India, provided insights into sustainable living practices.
- Ms. Pooja Sood, Partner at Ortislaw Offices, offered crucial information on intellectual property rights and patent laws.
- Prof. Pammi Gauba, a renowned environmental Biotechnologist & Head of the Department of Biotechnology at JIIT, highlighted the role of emerging scientists in driving future innovations in life sciences and biotechnology. She emphasized the importance of multidisciplinary skills in addressing real-world problems through sustainable solutions.
- Prof. Vibha Rani and Prof. Ashwani Mathur, the coordinators and moderators of the event, discussed the revolutionary breakthroughs in biotechnology and their role in advancing India’s scientific and entrepreneurial landscape. They encouraged students to leverage new possibilities and contribute to government initiatives such as Make in India, Waste to Wealth, Swachh Bharat Mission, Jai Vigyan, Jai Anusandhan, and Skill India, all aimed at strengthening the nation’s vision of ‘VIKSIT BHARAT.’
The interactive session however attracted students from various disciplines, including B Tech, M Tech, M Sc, BCA, and PhD programs.
