Delhi’s Finance Minister, Atishi, unveiled the budget for FY2024-25 in the Delhi assembly on Monday, introducing the Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana. This scheme, inspired by the principles of Ram Rajya, will provide ₹1000 per month to all women above 18 in the national capital.
This marks the 10th budget presented by the Arvind Kejriwal government. To ensure smooth implementation, the AAP government has allocated ₹2,714 crore for the scheme.
Atishi announced, “A budget of ₹2,714 crore has been proposed for the beneficiaries in 2024-25. Under the ₹2000 crore allocation for the ‘Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana,’ every woman above 18 will receive ₹1000 monthly.”
Though specifics of the scheme have not been revealed, all women above 18 in Delhi will be eligible, with payments directly deposited into their bank accounts. The scheme’s commencement is expected post the Lok Sabha elections, slated for April-May.

₹2000 crore has been earmarked for this initiative, with eligibility limited to registered voters not enrolled in any pension scheme or government employment. Applicants will need to fill out a form provided by the Delhi government.
