Delhi Red Fort Blast: Amit Shah Reviews Situation, Calls For Intensive Probe; Noida Police Tighten Security

Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited LNJP Hospital on Monday evening to meet those injured in the Red Fort blast and review the security situation.

He confirmed that investigators were examining all possible angles and assured a thorough investigation.

According to Shah, the explosion occurred around 7 PM near the Subhash Marg traffic signal, close to Delhi’s iconic Red Fort, when a Hyundai i20 vehicle suddenly caught fire following a blast.

The impact injured several pedestrians and damaged nearby vehicles. Preliminary reports suggest multiple casualties.

Within ten minutes of the incident, teams from Delhi Police’s Crime Branch and Special Branch reached the site.

The National Security Guard (NSG), National Investigation Agency (NIA), and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) have launched a joint investigation. Authorities have been instructed to examine CCTV footage from the surrounding areas.

Capital and Neighbouring Cities on High Alert

Following the explosion, security agencies across the country have been placed on high alert. Delhi Police Commissioner and senior intelligence officials visited the scene to oversee operations.

In Noida, police have intensified checks at crowded areas, including metro stations, shopping malls, and markets. Sector 18, one of the busiest commercial zones, has seen heightened vigilance with barricades, vehicle inspections, and increased patrols.

Metro stations and public areas across Delhi-NCR are under close surveillance. Random checks are being carried out on commuters and luggage.

Authorities have deployed additional police personnel to manage heavy footfall and prevent any lapses.

Officials reinforced CCTV monitoring across major roads, metro routes, and marketplaces and instructed control rooms to conduct real-time surveillance. Social media platforms are also under observation to prevent the spread of misinformation.

Noida Police have appealed to citizens to remain calm but vigilant and to promptly report any suspicious activity or unidentified objects.

Authorities assured that the city’s security network remains fully active and that routine patrols and inspections will continue across high-footfall areas in the coming days.
