PM Modi Reviews Situation After Red Fort Blast; Eight Killed, High Alert Across Major Cities

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday spoke with Home Minister Amit Shah following a powerful explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort that killed eight people and injured at least twelve others.

Government sources said PM Modi took immediate stock of the situation and is closely monitoring developments.

Home Minister Amit Shah also reviewed the situation and spoke with Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha and Intelligence Bureau Chief Tapan Deka.

He directed National Investigation Agency (NIA) Director General Sadanand Vasant Date to send a specialised team to the blast site for a detailed investigation.

The explosion near the Red Fort Metro Station triggered panic across the national capital.

Authorities in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Mumbai issued a high alert, tightening security and intensifying surveillance at key installations.

Medical teams rushed the injured to LNJP Hospital for treatment. The Delhi Fire Department received multiple calls about a ‘blast-like sound’ and immediately dispatched emergency teams to the area.

Jammu and Kashmir Police busted a terror module linked to Pakistan-based JeM and AGH (Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind).

The blast took place just hours after the police carried out the crackdown.

Police arrested seven operatives during coordinated operations in Faridabad. They seized 2,900 kilograms of explosives, two assault rifles, pistols, detonators, timers, and other materials.

According to the J&K Police, the module was actively identifying and radicalising recruits, raising funds, and procuring explosives and arms.

Investigators believe the group’s activities were part of a larger plan to carry out coordinated terror attacks across North India.

The crackdown followed the discovery of Jaish-e-Mohammad posters in Srinagar’s Nowgam area on October 19, threatening police and security personnel.

Officials are examining whether the Red Fort explosion is linked to the recently busted module.

The timing of the incident, coming just a day before the second phase of the Bihar Assembly elections, has prompted heightened vigilance nationwide.

Security agencies are working together to trace the origin of the explosives and identify those behind the attack.
