Delhi pollution goes down
According to the Central Pollution Control Board’s (CPCB) national bulletin published at 4 pm, Delhi recorded the cleanest air on Saturday. With the Air Quality Index (AQI) decreasing to 59 in the “satisfactory” zone. This is an improvement over the 81 (satisfactory) air the Capital recorded on Friday. The city’s cleanest air day prior to Saturday was on July 9, when the AQI was 64. Delhi pollution coming down is a matter of great relief for the people of national capital.
How did this happen
Strong winds and rain-dispersing pollutants were credited by experts as the reason for the improvement in pollution levels. India Meteorological Department (IMD) scientist RK Jenamani said, “Rain and wind helped in the dispersion of pollutants. There has not been an accumulation of pollutants for the past 20 days.”
IMD data show that throughout the course of a 24-hour period commencing at 8.30am on Friday, the Safdarjung observatory, widely regarded as Delhi’s primary meteorological station, recorded 15.4mm of rain. However, other areas of the city experienced significantly more rain during this time: Ridge logged 83.4mm of rain, Delhi University 78.5mm, Palam 34.9mm, and Ayanagar 27.4mm.

The national capital is infamous because of the pollution levels. It has a lot of pollution that needs to be controlled. Also, many steps are taken to actually control it. But it can only be controlled if the people in Delhi wish that it should come to certain level. Also, the problem with Delhi is its population. Delhi inhabitants are a lot more than the city’s capacity.
