On Wednesday, Delhi Police heightened vigilance across the capital as citizens celebrated Holi with great enthusiasm.

Officers carried out widespread vehicle inspections, intercepted cars fitted with illegal tinted windows and conducted breathalyser examinations to deter drunken driving.

Authorities imposed penalties on those found violating traffic regulations in multiple localities.

Police arranged detailed security plans in Paschim Vihar to maintain order and prevent disturbances.

Police Commissioner Satish Golcha personally assessed the arrangements at ground level and spoke with officers stationed in the area. He conveyed festive wishes to the personnel and acknowledged their efforts in upholding public safety.

In Govindpuri, teams launched focused enforcement operations targeting traffic violations. Officers stopped suspicious vehicles, examined documents and fined drivers who breached the rules, particularly those driving under the influence of alcohol.

In Laxmi Nagar, authorities strictly enforced road safety norms. Police intercepted motorcyclists travelling without helmets, those carrying excessive riders and individuals disregarding established traffic laws.

Officials confiscated vehicles from drivers unable to produce valid identification or registration papers.

Within the jurisdiction of the Shakarpur police station, personnel issued challans near Laxmi Nagar Metro Station to motorists breaking traffic rules.

Officers explained that these measures aimed to minimise accidents and ensure public protection during the lively festivities.

The reinforced policing followed extensive preparations conducted a day before Holi. Senior officials had already arranged additional deployments in sensitive areas and implemented strengthened border surveillance to avoid any disruption.

Authorities also identified habitual bootleggers and initiated precautionary steps against them.

Police organised meetings with local security committees to evaluate readiness and incorporate insights from past experiences.

While people across Delhi celebrated the festival of colours, marking the onset of spring and the victory of good over evil, the consistent presence of law enforcement helped ensure that the occasion concluded safely and without incident.
