A tragic accident on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Rajasthan’s Dausa district resulted in the deaths of eight people and left 21 others injured early on Wednesday.
Reports indicated that six passengers died in the fire that followed the collision, while two others lost their lives due to serious head injuries.
The accident occurred at around 2:30 AM near Zero Point in the Tanawad area under the jurisdiction of Kolwa Police Station.
According to Dausa Superintendent of Police Piyush Dixit, the sleeper bus was travelling from Rishikesh to Indore when it struck a trailer moving in the same direction.

Emergency teams admitted 21 injured passengers, including children, to Dausa District Hospital, where they are receiving treatment for burns and other injuries.
Investigators are examining whether driver fatigue contributed to the crash, although they have not yet established the exact cause of the accident or the fire.
Residents who helped with the rescue alleged that cartons of cigarettes were stored in the luggage compartment and may have fuelled the flames.
Police said they have not verified the claim and are investigating whether the reported cargo had any role in worsening the fire.
Survivors and residents claimed villagers began rescuing passengers before emergency teams arrived, alleging that the fire brigade reached the site after a delay.
The blaze destroyed both vehicles and disrupted traffic on the expressway for nearly an hour before authorities cleared the wreckage.
Officials have initiated a comprehensive investigation into the collision, the fire, and all related allegations.
Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families and wished the injured a swift recovery.
