Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu on Thursday deliberated with experts from the School of Planning and Architecture Delhi regarding the comprehensive redevelopment of transit corridors across the national capital.
Sandhu stated that the expert team presented an extensive proposal aimed at transforming existing transit routes into sustainable, pedestrian-friendly, and economically vibrant corridors.

The initiative envisions these stretches as green, accessible, and operational round-the-clock, integrating mobility with recreational and commercial activities.
Delhi Lieutenant Governor emphasised that the proposal aligns with the urban transformation vision of PM Narendra Modi.
The plan seeks to stimulate tourism, enhance local consumption, and create employment opportunities while improving urban infrastructure.
Sandhu highlighted that the execution of such a large-scale initiative will demand coordinated efforts among multiple civic bodies. He assured Professor Dr Virendra Kr Paul, Director of SPA Delhi, of full administrative support in evaluating feasibility and ensuring smooth inter-agency collaboration.
A day earlier, Delhi Lieutenant Governor met Manohar Lal Khattar to discuss pressing infrastructure challenges in Delhi. The dialogue focused on areas where central ministries could extend support for the capital’s development requirements.

In a separate engagement, Taranjit Singh Sandhu also held discussions with Johannes Zutt at Lok Niwas. The meeting explored avenues for leveraging global expertise and strengthening partnerships across sectors such as urban renewal, education, sanitation, and skill development.
