The saga began with a controversial circular issued by the Education Department on 11 June, mandating transfers for teachers who had served over a decade in one school.
In a decisive move, the Directorate of Education placed these transfer orders on hold as of 2 July, acknowledging the public outcry against what Atishi termed a BJP-driven ‘conspiracy’.
Atishi took to social media to commend Delhi’s educators and underscore the Kejriwal government’s steadfast commitment to enhancing educational standards across the capital.
Taking to X, Atishi stated, “The BJP attempted to stifle our education reforms by orchestrating mass transfers through LG sahib.”
She further added, ‘Delhi’s people have thwarted their scheme thanks to collective resistance.’
Atishi also asserted, “The Kejriwal administration remains unwavering in its mission to deliver quality education to Delhi’s children, regardless of the obstacles we face.”

Earlier, Atishi had issued directives halting the transfers, citing allegations of impropriety, and urged Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar to intervene promptly.
The episode took a political turn when Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena advocated for a reconsideration of the transfers, following discussions with the Government School Teachers Association and Delhi’s BJP leadership.
