Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Supports Boycott Of Turkish, Azerbaijani Products; Promises Market Overhaul

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday backed the boycott of apples and other goods from Turkey and Azerbaijan, stating that those who back forces against India’s interests must face complete rejection and the united anger of Indians.

Speaking to the media at Azadpur Mandi in north Delhi, Gupta praised traders for their boycott efforts.

“I compliment the traders for the boycott. If any nation works against Bharat’s interest in any form, then Indian citizens will boycott it,” she stated.

The Delhi CM further noted, “The decision reflects the traders’ patriotism.”

Expressing solidarity with public anger over countries supporting terrorism in India, she declared, “There will be no ‘vyapar, varta or sambandh’ (trade, communication or relation with countries supporting terror.”

Rekha Gupta also applauded the recent move by Jawaharlal Nehru University and Jamia Millia Islamia in Delhi to terminate their MoUs with Turkish educational institutions.

“There has to be a 100 per cent boycott of countries which are supporting terror in our country,” Delhi CM insisted.

Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Slams AAP Over Market Neglect

During her visit to Azadpur Mandi, Asia’s largest fruit market, Rekha Gupta criticised the poor state of facilities, highlighting security lapses and widespread foul smells.

“The previous AAP government has reduced the market to a corruption hub. Neither their ministers nor chairmen appointed by them at various mandis were interested in putting in any effort for improvement,” Delhi CM remarked.

She further added, “The leaders who promised to make Delhi as good as London or Paris could not even improve the sanitation and toilets here.”

Promising a complete revamp of facilities for traders and workers, Rekha Gupta identified priorities including modernisation, cleanliness, better roads, toilet maintenance, and improved security.

She assured that the BJP government would root out corruption in the mandis and restructure committees to ensure progress.

Pointing out that thousands of trucks bring essential food items through the market, she condemned the previous administration for reducing it to a massive garbage dump.
