Delhi Building Collapse: Police Issue Look Out Circular Against Owner Hariram Bansal

Delhi Police have issued a Look Out Circular against Hariram Bansal, the owner of the building that collapsed in Satya Niketan, as investigators examine the events leading to the tragedy.

An FIR was registered against Bansal and other accused persons on Sunday.

Police said the five-storey building, known as ‘Hostel Daze’, housed boys as a paying guest facility, while workers reportedly carried out renovation work in the basement before the collapse.

The collapse killed at least six people, and rescuers pulled five survivors from the site.

Emergency personnel continue to search the debris for people who may remain trapped underneath.

The building reportedly housed students, including those studying at colleges affiliated with Delhi University.

Eyewitnesses claimed that a neighbouring structure collapsed, prompting additional concerns about the condition of buildings in the locality.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta returned to the site on Monday morning to examine the rescue response and assess safety arrangements following the collapse.

Gupta said the building owner faced an FIR and warned that Municipal Corporation of Delhi officials would face stringent action if any negligence or failure on their part emerged during the investigation.

The Chief Minister’s Office ordered authorities to seal illegal five-storey buildings across the capital immediately.

Officials have begun detailed inspections of PG accommodations and other nearby properties. They plan to take action against structures found violating safety requirements.

The administration has increased surveillance and inspections around Satya Niketan to identify possible construction and safety violations.

A petitioner has approached the Delhi High Court over the building collapse.

The petitioner has sought judicial intervention in the case and raised wider concerns about building safety following the tragedy.

The High Court has agreed to take up the matter on Monday. Authorities continue rescue work and are investigating the circumstances behind the fatal collapse.
