Delhi Airport on Friday issued a travel advisory asking passengers to confirm their flight schedules with airlines before leaving for the airport, as IndiGo continues to experience major operational disruptions.
The caution follows the cancellation of over 500 flights on Thursday, along with numerous delays.
IndiGo recorded 1,232 cancellations across its network in November, highlighting the scale of the issue.
In a message posted on X, the airport stated, “Please be advised that operational challenges affecting certain domestic services are resulting in flight delays and cancellations.”
“We strongly recommend passengers verify their flight status directly with their airline prior to departure for the airport. Our dedicated on-ground teams are working diligently with all partners to mitigate the disruption and ensure an comfortable passenger experience. We appreciate your patience and cooperation,” the advisory added.

Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu held an urgent meeting with IndiGo’s senior leadership. He also met top officials from the Ministry of Civil Aviation to review the situation.
The Minister has directed the Airports Authority of India to fully assist affected travellers. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation will closely monitor ticket prices to prevent unfair fare increases.
The DGCA also held discussions with IndiGo on Thursday to seek clarification on the sharp rise in cancellations.
The airline attributed its challenges to the rollout of Phase II of revised Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL), crew constraints and seasonal winter disruptions.
The updated FDTL rules, designed to improve pilot safety and address fatigue, came into effect on 1 July and 1 November after court rulings.
IndiGo admitted that it had underestimated staffing needs under the new norms, leading to a mismatch in crew availability.
The airline said disruptions may continue for the next few days until operations stabilise.
Starting 8 December, IndiGo will temporarily scale back flight schedules to reduce passenger inconvenience. It has also requested short-term flexibility in FDTL rules for A320 aircraft until February 2026. The airline has assured that services will return to normal by then.
