Cyclone Biparjoy is expected to pass across Saurashtra, Kutch, and the neighbouring Pakistani beaches between Mandvi and Karachi near Jakhau Port during the evening of June 15, according to the India Meteorological Department.
In particular, Gujarat and Mumbai have seen powerful tidal waves and heavy rains as a result of the extremely violent cyclonic storm Biparjoy. On Wednesday, IMD issued a red alert for the Saurashtra and Kutch coasts. The authorities anticipate that the only things damaged by Biparjoy will be kutcha homes, light posts, and roadways.
IMD Director Radhe Shyam Sharma told news agency ANI, “Currently it (Biparjoy) is currently under the category of severe cyclonic storm. Its movement on Wednesday remained in the north-east direction. It is expected to hit Saurashtra, Kutch and Gujarat on June 15. It will enter Rajasthan’s Kutch on June 16 in depressed form and will further weaken.”
