3 BSF Commandos killed in Thoubal of Manipur
In the Thoubal region of Manipur, a curfew is imposed after gunmen opened fire on security forces, injuring at least three BSF soldiers with bullets, according to authorities on Thursday. According to a police statement, the incident happened late on Wednesday night when gunmen from a mob “attempted to breach the Thoubal police headquarters” and opened fire on the security staff.
Indian Reserve Battalion on target
First, the mob attacked the 3rd Indian Reserve Battalion in the Thoubal district near Khangabok. Security personnel used the least amount of force possible to drive them back.
“Further, the mob attempted to breach Thoubal police headquarters, prompting the security forces to use the force. Armed men from among the mob fired with live rounds. As a result, three personnel from BSF sustained bullet injuries,” the police statement said.
The three, identified as Constable Gourav Kumar, ASI Sobram Singh and ASI Ramji, have been sent to a private hospital.

District administration imposes curfew in Thoubal, Manipur
Curfew is imposed in Thoubal district of the North-Eastern state. People who work for vital services like the media, health, or the courts, as well as those who travel to airports, are not subject to the curfew, nevertheless.
Officials revealed that highly armed terrorists targeted two Manipur Police commandos in Moreh, a business town on the Myanmar border, on Wednesday, resulting in their deaths and two others receiving gunshot wounds. This sparked the recent unrest in Thoubal.
Firing in Moreh
It was just yesterday, on Wednesday that 2 police commandos were killed in firing at Moreh. Two other police commandos sustained injuries during the same firing in the area. Followed by this, women in Manipur came onto roads of Imphal and blocked the passage till the airport. This was to protest against the conditions in the state and the death of the police officers in firing.
